The Kitchen, the Bedroom and the Grave by Donal O'Hagan

Up-and-coming journalist Dempsey is a N.I.P.P.L.E. (Northern Irish Professional Person Living in England) with a lot on his mind. He's been sent home to Belfast to make a documentary on the changing face of good ol' Norn Iron, before he can escape back to his adopted London.

At home he must face his father (obsessed with Marxism and eco coffins), his mother (convinced his father has Alzheimer's), and his old school buddy Mark, who thinks it's time Dempsey told his family the truth about himself.

The American Hotel Rehearsed Reading

A single hotel room in a lonely town might hold the secret to time travel - tunnels that can lead people back to that mythical point in their lives where everything went wrong ... at least that’s what Joe and Malone have heard. But they’ve got a dead body to deal with before they can dig their way out of past follies. Jaki McCarrick’s play The American Hotel twists the idea of what’s before us and what’s behind us.
